The work of SV Artists' members Diana Pumpelly Bates, Tricia Creason-Valencia and Deborah Mills Thackrey is being shown at the Triton Museum in honor of their receipt of 2009 Arts Council Silicon Valley Fellowship Grants.

A charming photograph Della took of a chicken eating a worm was published in the "Mother Earth News" June issue.

 

Menlo Park Library's June 6th "Gathering of the Poetry Groups: Poets, Musicians, and Artists" featured a poetry reading by Erica Goss.

Cristina took part in the Bandana Project that was on display in May at the County Government Building in San Jose. An exhibition that was part of the national initiative to end sexual harassment and violence against farm worker women.

In May Laura participated in a group show at The Good Shop on Folsom in the Mission district in San Francisco.

SV Artists' members Lori Krein and Nancy Rice participated in the Silicon Valley Open Studios in April.

Della was the official event photographer for the Greener by Design 2009 conference in San Francisco.

With her Business of Art grant Nancy Rice taught a group of high school students her new acrylic painting technique. Which led to a group show for them at the Works gallery. (A great example of how a grant trickles down to others in the community).

Twenty three members of the newly organized Silicon Valley Artist's Collaborative held their first group show "Momentum" at the Art Object Gallery in San Jose's historic Japantown. We were extremely pleased at the estimated turn out of 300 to 500 people at our opening reception.

During the run of the show we held two Artist Panel Discussions, a Russian ceramic flute making class, plus a poetry workshop.
